It's a common thought that caramel is quite tricky to make. Well… not this one! Our Stringy Bark Honey caramel sauce is super quick and easy to create and is the perfect addition to a wide variety of dishes, such as drizzled over vanilla ice cream or sliced Red Delicious apples, or used as a dipping sauce for fresh warm churros.

...And, if poured into a lovely tightly sealed pot, this Rich Stringy Bark Caramel Sauce makes for a great homemade winter gift for Thanksgiving, a house-warming, Halloween, or best of all – Christmas!!

      • ½ cup Gustare Rich Stringy Bark Honey
      • 110g unsalted butter
      • ¾ cups brown sugar
      • 1 can (397g) sweetened condensed milk
      1. Firstly, preheat your oven to 180°c.
      2. Mix together your Rich Stringy Bark Honey, butter and brown sugar in saucepan.
      3. Turn on the heat (medium-high) and stir the mixture constantly with a wooden spoon allowing the butter and sugar to melt and combine with the honey.
      4. Bring the mixture to a boil (the sauce will become very bubbly and will rise in the pan, but don't worry – this is normal, if it looks as though it's going to boil over, simply reduce the heat slightly). Allow the sauce to boil for 2 minutes while continuing to stir continuously.
      5. Gradually pour in the condensed milk whilst stirring. Ensure to keep the stirring and heat constant until the condensed milk is completely mixed through.
      6. Once the condensed milk is combined, you will notice that the sauce will begin to thicken and turn into a smooth golden colour. At this point, your sauce will be ready so remove from the heat and serve with your desired accompaniment.
      7. If saving for another day or if you plan to gift the sauce, leave it to cool slightly in the pan (about 5-10 minutes) and then pour into an airtight container. Once completely cooled, store in the fridge. The sauce will thicken the longer you leave it to cool, and when your ready to consume, simply warm it up again in the micro-wave and your sauce will become deliciously drizzly again.
